Requisitos de Entrada y Salida Todos los participantes son responsables de obtener los requerimientos necesarios de entrada establecidos por el gobierno de los Estados Unidos. Participantes con pasaportes oficiales de los países de Centroamérica, Suramérica, y el Caribe requieren de una visa para poder ingresar a los Estados Unidos. Dichos participantes deben contactar el Consulado de los Estados Unidos en sus respectivos países o el consulado más cercano a su sitio de residencia. Alojamiento Los representantes de los pueblos indígenas seleccionados para recibir fondos por el Fondo Específico se alojarán en el: Washington Plaza Hotel 10 Thomas Circle N.W. Sin embargo, la OEA no cubrirá los gastos extras relacionados con la extensión de alojamiento de los participantes. De acuerdo con las restricciones del fondo, los participantes compartirán un cuarto doble con otro participante. Todos los participantes deben registrarse en el lobby del Washington Plaza. La OEA solo cubrirá gastos correspondientes a las habitaciones. Es de anotar que los participantes son responsables por las llamadas locales, nacionales o internacionales, así como por los gastos hechos en el hotel tales como comidas, o eventuales daños a las instalaciones del mismo. Los participantes que participarán con fondos propios y desean hospedarse en el Washington Plaza, lo pueden hacer. El precio por un cuarto estándar, habitación sencilla o con camas dobles es de US$99.00. Los participantes deben hacer sus propias reservaciones contactando directamente al Hotel. La OEA ha reservado cuartos adicionales con el mismo precio señalado anteriormente, para los participantes que participarán con fondos propios. Para obtener el precio especial, es importante informarle al hotel que usted está con la "OAS". 5. Gastos de estadía La OEA proporcionará a los participantes financiados por el Fondo Específico una suma complementaria a los costos de estadía, la cual tiene la intención de ser usada para cubrir los gastos de comidas y transporte local. Esta suma será entregada a los beneficiarios el día de su llegada. 6. Transporte aéreo La OEA pagará el costo de los tiquetes aéreos para los participantes financiados por el Fondo Específico. La información sobre dichos tiquetes aéreos fue suministrada individualmente a cada uno de los participantes. En ningún caso la OEA asumirá los gastos por cambio de tiquetes aéreos, los cuales son de exclusiva responsabilidad de los participantes. 7. Transporte en Washington DC Transporte para y del Washington Plaza Hotel a los aeropuertos del área metropolitana de Washington, D.C. es responsabilidad de los participantes. Registro de Participantes El registro para la Octava Reunión se llevará a cabo el 4 de diciembre de 2006 de 9:00 a 9:30 a.m. en el edificio principal de la OEA en Washington D.C. Se entregará una tarjeta de identificación a los participantes, la cual, por razones de seguridad, se exigirá en todas las actividades de la Reunión. El registro para el Cónclave Indígena tendrá lugar en el momento de registro en el Washington Plaza Hotel. 10. Idiomas y Documentos de Trabajo: Los trabajos de la Octava Reunión se llevarán a cabo en tres de los cuatro idiomas oficiales de la Organización (ingles, español y portugués) y habrá interpretación simultánea en estos idiomas. Los trabajos del Conclave Indígena se llevarán a cabo en español y en ingles y habrá interpretación simultánea en estos idiomas. 11. Corriente eléctrica: La corriente eléctrica es de 110 voltios. Si los participantes desean utilizar otros aparatos eléctricos, deberán contar con los adaptadores correspondientes.

The Indigenous Caucus of the Americas will take place immediately prior to the Eighth Meeting from December 1-3, 2006. Entry and Departure Requirements Participants are responsible for obtaining the necessary entry requirements established by the government of the United States. Participants carrying official passports from Central and South America and the Caribbean countries require a visa to enter the United States. These participants must contact the U.S. Consulate in their respective countries or the nearest consular office. Accommodations The indigenous peoples' representatives selected to receive funding by the Selection Board of the Specific Fund to Support the Elaboration of the American Declaration on the Rights of the Indigenous Peoples will stay at: Washington Plaza Hotel 10 Thomas Circle N.W. However, the OAS will not cover the costs of participants who wish to stay for additional days. Due to the restrictions of the funds, the participants will share a double room with another participant. All of the participants should register at the lobby of the Washington Plaza. Additionally, the OAS will only pay for the costs of the room. The OAS will not be responsible for local, national, or international phone calls; all additional costs are the responsibility of the participants, as are incidental costs such as food or possible damage to the rooms. Participants in the meeting not supported by the Specific Fund who wish to be accommodated in the Washington Plaza may do so. The price for a standard, single room or a room with two double beds is US $99.00. Participants should make their own reservations by contacting the hotel directly. The OAS has reserved additional rooms charged at the same price as mentioned above for those participants who are using their own funds. To obtain the group rate, it is important to inform the hotel that you are with the "OAS". 5. Costs of Stay The OAS will provide the participants supported by the Specific Fund with a sum of money corresponding to the costs of stay, which is intended to cover the costs of food and local transportation. This sum will be given to these representatives upon arrival. The OAS will not be responsible for the costs of domestic transportation of the participants in their respective countries. 5. Air Transportation The OAS will pay the cost of airfare for those participants chosen by the Selection Board of the Specific Fund to Support the Elaboration of the American Declaration on the Rights of the Indigenous Peoples. Flight information will be provided to all the participants. The OAS will not cover any penalties or charges resulting from any changes in flight schedules. Participants will be responsible for these costs. 6. Ground Transportation Transportation to and from airports in the Washington, D.C. area to the Washington Plaza Hotel is the responsibility of the participants. It is advisable for participants to bring clothing suitable for cold temperatures. 7. Registration of Participants Registration for the Eighth Meeting will take place on December 4, 2006 from 9:00 - 9:30 a.m. in the Main Building of the Organization of American States. Participants will be issued identification cards, which, for security reasons, must be displayed during all activities. Registration for the Indigenous Caucus will take place upon arrival at the Washington Plaza Hotel. 8. Working Languages and Documents The proceedings of the Eighth Meeting will be conducted in three of the official languages of the OAS (Spanish, Portuguese and English). Simultaneous interpretation will be provided for the Indigenous Caucus in English and Spanish. 9. Power The electrical setting used in Washington D.C is 110 volts. If participants would like to use electrical devices of 220 volts, they must use corresponding adaptors.
