The International Indian Treaty Council presents,

International Day of Solidarity with Indigenous Peoples of the Western Hemisphere (Dia de la Raza) Monday, October 13 (Indians discover Columbus!).  Commemorate 511 Years of Indigenous Peoples Resistance to Colonization in the Americas, 1492-2003.  We Are Still Here!

This is an Annual Sunrise Gathering October 13th at Alcatraz Island in San Francisco. The invitation is extended to the General Public to come and listen to the voices, stories, songs, dances and drums from traditional American Indians of the Western Hemisphere who have a totally different reality to share on this historic occasion commonly referred to as “Columbus Day.”  We will not allow the truth of the brutal invasions upon sacred Turtle Island to be buried in the dust-bin of his-story!  Among the tragic events that ensued was the placement of the first “global order” and the beginning of the First World War, when European plundering armies began the invasion of the so-called “New World.”  And We Have Survived!!

Join us to give honor and respect to the right of Self-Determination to Indigenous Peoples of the World, as pre-existing Sovereign Nations.
